If you ever want to open a file, not your default program, but with a different one we usually use the “Open With” button on the shortcut menu. If we give this much use may be the case that this sub is full of things that eventually no longer interest us at all.
To remove any entry that shows we can do here very easily by modifying the registry. To do this we go to Start, Run, type Regedit, and we give OK. Then we go through the menu on the left until the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ FileExts
Once there we will see a list of extensions (usually quite large), whose menu locate where we want to modify and deploy to locate OpenWithList . Click on it and in the right panel we display all programs that are associated with that extension and shown in the “Open With.” Simply select which you want to delete and right click do.
This can be repeated with all the extensions you want to change your menu, repeating exactly the same steps. Otherwise just check the trick has worked doing “Open With” on the extensions that we have modified. That if, as long as we change the record I recommend very careful what we do and be very sure of that when you are wrong to modify or remove anything.
This little trick applies to Windows in all versions since 2000.
