My view that both the iPhone and the Nexus One are two high-level devices have one thing clear, Google does not seek to kill any other terminal but something much more effective: its mobile operating system is present in as many possible for them . Google fought a different battle with Nokia, Apple or any other handset maker, to them the Hardware it brings some hove, not your market, what interests them is the Software : Google launched Voice that if that if Chrome Chrome and OS, Android etc.
Final conclusion? In 20 years Google will control the technology world. Now seriously. The form of the iPhone have already passed through the combination Android HTC, the Nexus One is another move aimed at further boosted Android , which remains to be seen is whether growth in market share of the operating system adversely affects sales of the iPhone, something that has not happened so far.
