During the last days is discussing the possibility that enough in the not too distant future the world-famous MP3 could be replaced by a new format dubbed MusicDNA .

The new audio format has been developed by some of the most responsible in the development of MP3 and presents a new way of thinking about music in digital format.

The MusicDNA allowed to include within the file itself additional data such as music lyrics of the song, videos, covers and even blog entries. Moreover, its content can be updated online, appearing as a clear competition for the Apple iTunes .

The primary responsibility of this new format is the Norwegian programmer Dagfinn Bachy , who has been involved in creating the first MP3 player, and German Karlheinz Brandengurg , which many point as the creator Main MP3.

For now, only a few independent labels have shown their willingness to try this format while the big record companies are working on developing the CMX .

Are we witnessing a new change in the field of new technologies or MusicDNA will join the long list of projects that went nowhere?
