Has long been fighting isoHunt trial in court that would determine the legality of the site. It all began in September 2006 when a group of movie studios, the largest in the industry, sued Gary Fung , administrator and creator of the site, accusing it of profiting through the copyright that was not his. Unfortunately Fung lost the case.
The Federal Court of California ruled that isoHunt violated copyright laws by means of induction.
To determine who was guilty Fung went back to days of Napster and Grokster, the court also Stephen Wilson Fung said promoting users to share copyrighted material. While the manager explained that isoHunt not dissimilar from Google, the justice ruled that it did not. Meanwhile, the site will continue to operate from Canada.
We know this is not usually a problem because when a site falls occur with many other very forceful, but here is something different. This trial, where an administrator of a site linking files (because that’s what makes isoHunt) precedent is found guilty, may cause too many problems in the future.
Is not yet known what then decide isoHunt’s lawyers. Could appeal and see how it ends this long problem, but it is unclear what will.
