Guerra de los navegadores Net Applications figures just published browser market share by December 2009, and in them we find several interesting surprises. First, is consolidated advantage over Chrome Safari , which is something that dates back to November last year, but the latest figures the gap grows from 0.03% to 0.17% ( Safari with 4.46% vs. Chrome with 4.63%), ratificándonse upward trend for the Google browser .

And as usual be watching for some time, Internet Explorer is not down to . This time falls almost 1 full percentage point (from 63,61% to 62,69%), so that is down 7% over the year 2009 . Meanwhile, Mozilla loses a negligible 0.1% to settle at 24.6% and Opera are still lagging behind with a minuscule 2.31%.

On the other hand, it is interesting to note how the transfer of users to IE8 is almost in its entirety at the expense of Internet Explorer 7, be almost intact the market share of IE6 anachronistic (which borders the 20%) . This confirms the thesis that those who use “the browser of evil” not doing it for disinformation, or because they do not feel like upgrading, but because they are forced to stay with Internet Explorer 6 because of other reasons (to preserve compatibility with the intranet company, for example) and that these circumstances do not change while IE6 will still be used on millions of computers throughout the world.

We’ll see how these numbers evolve throughout 2010, and whether the appearance of future Internet Explorer 9 manages to change things somewhat.
