The image of the week: Adobe is upset with Apple

January 31, 2010

Adobe_blog
Sorry but in the end I could not resist the temptation and fallen into the easy, the image of the week is related to the iPad, specifically the absence of Flash on it, why Adobe is upset with Apple , seeing that part of its business is slipping from his hands.

The blog of one of the Adobe employees choose to display the amount of services you can not access the user who has a iPad , such as Hulu page, CNN , Google Finance, Aviary or adult content page, or put in plain language, of porn, which can not be accessed from the iPad. After deciding to correct the post, you remove the image and apologize if anyone was offended by their inclusion.

And all this Steve Jobs tells us why it does not include Flash in the iPad, summarized in two words, poor quality and talks about the future with HTML5. It lacks in part right, but what matters is not what he says but what is silent on the reasons why Flash is not included.

It looks like a school fight between , where one says to another who does not play with him because his toy is junk and breaks mine. For your more … and so we can continue ad infinitum. And to this the image of the contents not be accessible from the iPad, where such services have every sense, but not through the eyes of Apple.

With no porno iPad

January 31, 2010

The “revolutionary” that launched Apple iPad this week has a great contrast and is the does not support Flash this leads to not able to view hundreds of pages that use this technology, content including dozens pornographic, playable , etc..

The information and images come from a blog official Flash , the Adobe not the superhero, note that certainly raised hundreds of blogs and other online media.

Just know that this is solved with an updated OS, the question is whether Apple wants this and if they will make the change before the failure before reaching their gadget. Of course other important pages that are displayed in the image are also out of the race, like Hulu, the news flash on CNN or Facebook games.

Create temporary email disposto

January 31, 2010

I tested various temporary email services and this seemed the quickest and easiest. Disposto to create a disposable mailbox in seconds, just pick a name or failing to take a random one.

Then you can use this email to register on forums or anywhere else that requires email but where not want to trace. Keep in mind not to use it to send personnel and which has no password and anyone who knows the email address may enter.

For the many hours we spent at the computer, meet with small applications such as Quix is the closest thing that we win the lottery.

And is that Quix , is a Bookmarklet compatible with virtually all modern browsers, which will allow us to speed up navigation and productivity in a simple way.

So by small commands can perform actions as helpful as they translate a web search for images on Flickr with CC licenses and endless Common Tasks available by default.

I leave you with a video screencast where you can see better how it works and how useful it can be :

It is also customizable, so if we do not like all the default actions, we can add our own commands, or modify existing ones to leave at will.

TotalFinder, Finder with tabs to Chrome

January 31, 2010

TotalFinder, el finder con tabs y acceso rápido Today I bring an application to make a fairly significant change to Mac OS X. It is TotalFinder a plugin Simble used to giving the Finder-style tabs to Chrome . In fact in the previous screenshot you can see the looks on my system. Total Finder requires that you have the latest version of the library and also Simble Snow Leopard, will not work otherwise.

Is a version ALPHA and is still in development, but works pretty well. Besides the inclusion of tabs, we can invoke the new Finder with a key combination (default alt <), que nos abrirá un explorador de ficheros en un abrir y cerrar de ojos.

The project contains some of the ideas that were already with Visor, a terminal access to very stylish and fast system also based on a library Simble . What happens when it seems that versions ALPHA expire must renew what is a nuisance even if support for Sparkle (automatic update) in the latest versions. Also for now it free , but it is clear in their choice a big button that says “Purchase” by thinking that this time will make us pay for using the plugin once this has already happened to a development phase more stable.

Feeder, separates the relevant tweets that users follow

January 31, 2010

Feedera

Many Twitter users are likely to suffer something called information overdose . Too many tweets, many of which are just noise and among those hardly find something really interesting or useful .

Feeder is responsible for combating this situation. Connected to your Twitter account, separates the interesting tweets retweets counting the clicks bit.ly (if this is a link of that service) and appearances on Facebook, Digg and Delicious. Through this system, we have a list of interesting and relevant tweets.

Feeder not only allows for a summary of your timeline, but also the lists that you create in Twitter . It also includes the possibility of retweet from your own site, an option for ignore tweets to certain users or to point to certain domains, and sending the summaries to your inbox every day.

In summary, a very useful tool to improve productivity, with very good results , although it misses the possibility of a button I like / do not like to make it more precise yet. Feeder requires an invitation to enter, you can get by entering your email address to send you when available, or following your Twitter account @ Feeder.

Google Docs end support for Internet Explorer 6

January 31, 2010

internet explorer 6 vudu

Internet Explorer 6 was the target of multitude of protests today , for its lack of compatibility with standards and require all Web developers to invest considerable time in ensuring that their creations are also be opened in that browser. And is that despite being an older version, still being used for a good part of boaters.

Many companies and services are beginning to withdraw support for that version of Internet Explorer, and recently Google has officially announced that it will from March 1 in Google Docs and Google Sites . That means that although we will able to open those sites with Internet Explorer 6, all the news that appear from now may not be used with this browser.

Google recommends choosing alternatives that respect the standards to a lesser or greater level, such as Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox 3, Google Chrome 4 or Safari 3. If you are still you use the Internet Explorer 6 from Genbeta we recommend you follow the advice to change.

Anaface rate your beauty from a photo

January 31, 2010

Anaface
Anaface is one of those typical websites that can be sent en masse to our pen pals, like those we found with famous people like to know how attractive / as we are.

This page is a little further, and not compare us with anyone, but punctuates our traits , as he considers perfect aesthetic level, saying for example, if our ears are proportionate to the size of our head, if we have eyes too close together and so on.

The system is not automatic , so that in addition to uploading the photo and tell our sex, we will put 17 points on the image key, manually, to show us the test results and our score from 0 to 10.

The site itself has no more useful than that, but it is quite fun to compete with our friends to see who gets a higher score with your photo. While that itself, to understand the analysis we will defend ourselves with English, because is not translated into Castilian .
